In-line Full-Dimension Measurement of Phone Mid-Frames
An 8-station system built on WWT telecentric lenses achieves full-dimension in-line inspection with ±3μm repeatability.
01 · Challenge
After CNC machining, 200+ dimensions of each mid-frame required 100% inspection; manual CMM sampling was too slow for the 8-second takt time.
02 · Solution
WWT121-02-120-AL lenses capture the full outline while 0.4X models re-measure critical holes at higher magnification, with 8 parallel stations covering all dimensions.
03 · Result
±3μm repeatability at 6.5s per part, zero escapes, and 4 fewer inspectors needed per line.
